Marriage can be difficult sometimes. Older men may struggle with emotions in relationships, despite their successful careers and social status. It’s interesting to explore why this happens and how personal growth plays a role.
Unfortunately, I entered into a marriage with a man who possessed a multitude of unfavorable habits, ones that were never apparent during our courtship.
Furthermore, I come from a family deeply rooted in tradition. Many of my grandparents, aunts, and uncles have devoted themselves to serving the church. Growing up, I was privileged to witness my grandmother’s dedication to her faith as she pursued a degree in Christian Education, proudly representing her community as a recipient of an American scholarship. Additionally, she served as a steadfast Deaconess in the church, embodying the values and teachings that were passed down through generations.
Being a Deaconess entails significant responsibilities within the church community. One of the crucial roles is the instruction of Sunday School, catering to students from elementary to high school levels. Additionally, Deaconesses often take charge of leading the choir, contributing to the uplifting and spiritual atmosphere during worship services. The dedication and passion of these individuals are exemplified through their commitment to their roles, going above and beyond by engaging in various other church activities, such as evangelism and pastoral duties when required.
During my early years, I found comfort in the familiarity and stability of my traditional family values. However, as I approached my late twenties and the threshold of my thirties, I began to yearn for a greater sense of autonomy and self-determination. It was during this time that I made the decision to enter into a clandestine marriage with my ex-husband, for reasons rooted in a desire for personal freedom and independence.
I made a daring decision to choose happiness over others’ advice.
It is evident that my parents, grandparents, aunties, and uncles sensed that something was amiss. Moreover, they recognized that I had not fully sought guidance from a higher source in my life decisions. I was burdened by numerous responsibilities and succumbed to the pressure of societal expectations. At my age, being the only unmarried individual amidst my accomplishments (owning a house, a car, having a successful career, and holding a master’s degree), I failed to recognize the significance of my family’s support and the importance of seeking their blessings.
When you have a deep longing for something, especially if it feels daunting or risky, it’s important to reach out to a higher power and seek guidance. Take the time to truly connect with God and patiently wait for His response. Remember, cultivating a stronger spiritual connection can be immensely helpful, especially when you’re yearning for significant transformations in your life.
Deepening your knowledge about God can fulfill your happiness, your feeling of unworthiness and having someone to provide for your needs will be met.
It is only through deeper interaction, connection, alignment with God, can have a fulfilling life that could lessen mistakes in life.
