Is Self-care Part of Your Financial Investment?

It feels good when you can see yourself being pampered; it’s as if you’re cared for and loved. It creates good vibes within you. When you invest in yourself, it makes you feel more valuable.

Since the year 2020 I have been focusing on myself and started self-care because of the pandemic. I tried it in many different ways. First, I spend time on meditation. Watching motivation videos helped me. I also wake up early in the morning to read devotional books or write what I am thankful for in my gratitude journal. Sometimes, I also take Zumba or any form of exercise that will enhance my body.

As I continue investing in myself, magic happens. I became clear with my goals, and realized I can even start a business. It was worth it to look after my body, mind, emotions, and spirituality. I even had the chance to socialize in church and even voluntarily joined a KINDNESS station in our local barangay. This allowed me to talk to people from different walks of life.

Studies show that habits take three months to form. Since I’ve been doing self-care consistently, this has turned into a lifestyle. Here are simple tips so you can do the same.

  1. If you are to financially invest, start within yourself. Watch videos, listen to podcasts and read self-development e-books.
  2. Start your day with a positive affirmation. Eat healthy, exercise, meditate and pray daily.
  3. Buy things in your home and workspace station to make your life easier and more comfortable.
  4. Take advantage of the pandemic times to reflect. Write down your goal. Make an action plan to achieve it.
  5. Try to learn something new. Invest in your skills.
  6. Socialize and build a connection with people that can influence you to be who you want and where you want to be.
  7. Lastly, help also other people, who needs financial investment which starts from oneself. In doing this you not only helping yourself but as well the community that we live in.
